At present, to obtain a straight thread seam, mainly the technologies for forming a lockstitch type 301 and technologies for forming a double thread chain stitch type 401, using a looper with an eyelet, where the bottom thread is filled. 

These existing sewing technologies have the following «eternal» disadvantages: skipping stitches, thread breakage, needle breakage and deformation of the needle tip during sewing, it is necessary to adjust the thread tension when changing the thickness, density, stiffness and elasticity of the materials to be sewn, it is necessary to adjust the hook or looper relative to the needle when changing from one needle number to another - due to the small permissible gap of 0.1 mm between the point of the hook or looper and the needle, it is necessary to increase the stroke of the needle bar when sewing heavy and thick materials up to 8 mm thick.

History of the invention of the revolutionary ideal ZARIF 2023 double thread chain stitch technology with rotary looper.

In 1994, we invented a completely new ZARIF double thread chain stitch technology using a rotary looper, for which we were granted US Patent No.6,095,069 in 2000. 

Prior to our invention, single thread chain stitch technology used a rotary looper invented by American inventor James Edward Allen Gibbs in 1857 (see US Patent No.17427).

A rotary looper is the only single-piece working unit in the sewing industry that is able to draw loops of thread around its body and rotate the loops of thread 180 degrees with its tail. 

Therefore, the use of a rotary looper in our ZARIF 1994 double thread chain stitch technology has enabled us to be the first in the world to create a new double thread chain stitch type 401 in which the loops of the top and bottom threads are rotated 180 degrees.

The ZARIF 1994 double thread chain stitch technology uses six working units to form a stitch, such as: a looper that makes two turns in a cycle in a vertical plane; a needle with a one long groove that reciprocates in a vertical plane; a pusher that makes an oscillating motion in a horizontal plane to feed the bottom thread to the looper; two rotating twin-disc cam thread take-ups for feeding and tightening the top and bottom threads respectively; a material feed system. 

In 1997, based on our ZARIF 1994 sewing technology, we produced a prototype of the ZARIF double thread chain stitch sewing machine by reconstructing an industrial lockstitch sewing machine 1022 class of the «Orsha» Company (Belarus). We experimented with this machine and learned about some of the shortcomings of our ZARIF 1994 sewing technology.  

Since then, in order to develop the ideal ZARIF sewing technology for straight stitch sewing, we have gradually incorporated our knowledge into the design of our prototype ZARIF sewing machine and conducted experimental tests, which allowed us to improve the ZARIF 1994 sewing technology in 2020 (ZARIF 2020 sewing technology), in 2021 (ZARIF 2021 sewing technology), and finally in 2023, after 26 years of continuous research and experimentation, we invented the revolutionary and ideal ZARIF 2023 sewing technology.

For the first time in the world, a rotary looper is used to form a double thread chain stitch.

History of manufacturing a prototype of the revolutionary ZARIF double thread chain stitch sewing machine of the 2023.

In 1997, using our ZARIF double thread chain stitch technology of the 1994, we produced a prototype of a ZARIF double thread chain stitch sewing machine by reconstructing a 1022 class industrial lockstitch sewing machine made by company «Orsha» (Belarus).

Then, in 1997, we set ourselves the goal of improving our ZARIF double thread chain stitch technology of the 1994 by incorporating our knowledge into the mechanical design of the prototype ZARIF sewing machine of the 1997 to create the world's most ideal universal sewing machine for high-quality sewing of various materials. 

In order to achieve our goal, we have continuously conducted scientific research and experiments from 1997 to 2023, as a result of which we have introduced a lot of know-how into the design of our prototype ZARIF sewing machine, which has allowed us to gradually improve our ZARIF sewing technology since 1994, these improvement processes were carried out in 2020, 2021 and 2023.

6. For the first time, it is now possible to slightly tighten the loop of the top thread in the stitches using know-how, which increases the smoothness of the seam in light materials and the elasticity of the seam in elastic materials.

For the first time it is possible to reduce the length of a double thread chain stitch to 0.5 mm, which makes it possible to reliably tack the end of a chain seam against unravelling by condensation stitching with a stitch length of 0.5 mm, it is also possible to obtain a high-strength and hard-to-unravel chain seam, by reducing the stitch length to 0.5 mm after each stitch.

8. For the first time, it is easy to change to other needle sizes without adjusting the looper relative to the needle, as the maximum gap between the looper point and the needle has been increased to 0.5 mm.

Automatic thread trimming technology for ZARIF 2023 double thread chain stitch technology with rotary looper.

Automatic thread trimming is a feature available on many modern industrial sewing machines and all automated sewing systems. With this in mind, we have devoted considerable attention to the development of automatic thread trimming technology for our ZARIF double thread chain stitch technology using a rotary looper.  

As a result, in 2020, we were able to invent and develop an automatic thread trimming technology for our ZARIF double thread chain stitch technology using a rotary looper. This technology was slightly improved in 2021, and the final improvements were made in 2023. 

We have not yet produced an automatic thread trimmer based on our 2023 automatic thread trimming technology. However, the drawings we have produced for the automatic thread trimming technology demonstrate its feasibility in theory. 

If, after tacking the end of the chain seam by condensing stitches with a stitch length of 0.5 mm and then carry out automatic thread trimming, the resulting chain seam will not unravel from the end. 

If, after tacking the end of the chain seam by condensing stitches with a stitch length of 0.5 mm to perform manual thread trimming, the resulting chain seam will be very difficult to unravel from the end.

Chain seam is difficult to unravel from the end of the seam and is obtained by manually trimming the threads.

In addition, based on our revolutionary ideal ZARIF 2023 double thread chain stitch technology, it is possible to develop and produce an automatic template sewing machine with a rotating head, which makes it possible to obtain any complex stitch seam, since the head and the lower part with the needle plate are able to rotate synchronously in any direction in the range of 360 degrees, coinciding with the material feed along the X and Y coordinates. 

However, such a machine will have a very complex mechanical design and sophisticated electronic control to synchronise the rotation of the head and the lower part of the machine and to synchronise their rotation with the direction of material feed. 

Therefore, we conducted scientific research to develop a device that would enable our ZARIF sewing technology to receive a stitch when the material is fed in any direction. 

In 2020, we were able to develop such a device, which we further improved in 2021 and completed the improvement process in 2023. 

We have not yet tested the functionality of the sewing process when the material is fed in any direction when our ZARIF sewing technology is used in conjunction with this device, but the drawings we have produced theoretically demonstrate its functionality. 

Thanks to this invention of ours, based on our ZARIF 2023 sewing technology of the, it will be possible to design and manufacture various conventional automated template sewing machines, various automated sewing systems, as well as single and double head quilting machines, with stitch formation in any direction.

These sewing technologies are not ideal for straight stitches because they have several disadvantages that cannot be overcome, no matter how they are developed in the future. These disadvantages are inherent in the way these stitches are formed, so they can be considered «eternal». 

Our revolutionary ideal ZARIF 2023 double thread chain stitch technology does not have the «eternal» disadvantages of the existing stitch forming technologies type 301 and type 401 and for the first time in the world it is possible to replace the lockstitch type 301 with our new double thread chain stitch type 401 on a very large scale. 

For the first time in the world, our ZARIF 2023 sewing technology allows high-quality sewing of various materials up to 8 mm thick with a small needle bar stroke of 32 mm, without any adjustments after setting the normal tension of the threads, and also performs sewing without skipping a stitch, without breaking the threads, without breaking the needle, without deforming the needle tip, and for the first time in the world, it provides tight joining of materials with a double thread chain stitch and securely tacks the end of the chain seam by condensation stitching with a stitch length of 0.5 mm. 

In the ZARIF 2023 sewing technology, by using a rotary looper, a new double thread chain stitch type 401 is created, where the loops of the top and bottom threads are rotated 180 degrees, making the bottom of the seam very similar to the lockstitch type 301. 

In addition, the ZARIF 2023 sewing technology is able to tighten the loop of the top thread in the stitch strongly to join the materials tightly and to reduce the stitch thickness to increase the stitch seam wear resistance, and to tighten the loop of the top thread in the stitch weakly to obtain a smooth seam on light materials and a stretchy seam on elastic materials.

For the first time in the world, the ZARIF 2023 sewing technology has increased the maximum permissible distance between the looper point and the needle to 0.5 mm, which makes it easy to change to other needle sizes from needle Nm.130/21 to needle Nm.60/8, without adjusting the looper to the needle.

Could our revolutionary ideal ZARIF 2023 sewing technology with rotary looper become obsolete in the future? Our answer is NO.

Our answer is NO. The sewing technologies currently used, such as the straight stitch with lockstitch type 301 and the double thread chain stitch type 401, may evolve in the future, but they will never reach the level of our ideal ZARIF 2023 sewing technology. This is due to their «eternal» disadvantages. 

«Eternal» disadvantages inherent in both lockstitch technologies and double thread chain stitch technologies with a looper with an eyelet for filling the bottom thread: skipping stitches, thread breakage, needle breakage and deformation of the needle tip during sewing, it is necessary to adjust the thread tension when changing the thickness, density, stiffness and elasticity of the materials to be sewn, it is necessary to adjust the hook or looper relative to the needle when changing from one needle number to another - due to the small permissible gap of 0.1 mm between the point of the hook or looper and the needle, it is necessary to increase the stroke of the needle bar when sewing heavy and thick materials up to 8 mm thick. 

The «eternal» disadvantages inherent only to lockstitch technologies: frequent replacement of the hook bobbin, complex design of all types of hooks, the presence of a slipping zone in the hook that requires lubrication and reduces its life, and can also lead to a sudden stop of the sewing machine when the hook jams due to entering the sliding zone of the thread segments, the top thread is unevenly tightened with a thread take-up. 

The «eternal» disadvantages inherent only to double thread chain stitch technologies with a looper with an eyelet for filling the bottom thread: the participation of a needle in the preliminary tightening of the loop of the top thread located in the previous stitch forces the use of a needle with two long grooves, as well as the final tightening of the loop of the top thread in the stitch by the body of the looper on which the loop of the top thread is carried, they are not able to tighten the loop of the top thread in the stitch very much, which does not allow to use a double thread chain stitch type 401 to make a tight join of materials and high-quality sewing of various materials, as well as the minimum stitch length is limited to 1 mm, which does not allow to obtain a reliable tacking of the end of the chain seam by condensation stitching. 

It is technically impossible to create an ideal double thread chain stitch technology without the use of a rotary looper. For example, the introduction of a special hook in the sewing industry was not feasible (see Patent US3811392 from 1974  https://patents.google.com/patent/US3811392A).
